On 22nd May the government announced that Teachers will receive a 4% pay award effective September 2025. Full details can be found here.
Alongside this the government have announced additional funding to support schools with the cost of pay awards in the 2025 to 2026 financial year.
The schools budget support grant (SBSG) outlines the funding provided to mainstream schools (5-16) including funding for those with special units or resourced provision (SURPs).
Although funding amounts for special and AP schools, 16–19 provision, and early years settings have been announced nationally, there’s not yet any detail on how these will be allocated to individual schools.
